Richard Symmes
Mr. Symmes was most recently an associate attorney at a real estate firm in Denver, Colorado and is currently an attorney with Foster Law Group P.C. Mr. Symmes has been involved in sports, entertainment, and gambling for the last 7 years and worked for All Pro Sports and Entertainment in Denver, Colorado, where he participated in the representation of marquee NFL and PGA athletes in player grievances and legal matters, gaining great knowledge and understanding of the NFL Collective Bargaining Agreement. Mr. Symmes is also knowledgeable about the inner workings of professional sports clubs as he got his start in the sports & entertainment business with the NBA’s Seattle Supersonics in the sales and guest relations departments where he worked for 4 years. Prior to joining Balaban and Levinson P.C., Mr. Symmes clerked and interned for several law firms in Denver, Colorado in the areas of employment, family, gambling, and trusts and estates law.
Mr. Symmes is an active member of the Colorado, Washington and Denver Bar Associations and is a licensed to practice law in Colorado and Washington state courts as well as in the United States District Court, District of Colorado and the Western District of Washington. Mr. Symmes is a graduate of the University Of Denver Sturm College of Law where he was the Vice President and Community Director of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society as well as a Staff Editor for the University of Denver Sports and Entertainment Law Journal. Mr. Symmes is a member of the Denver Metro Volunteer Lawyers, Sports Lawyers Association as well as the American Bar Association. Mr. Symmes completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he double majored in communications and economics.

Jay Hsu
Mr. Hsu primarily focuses his practice on advising small business clients, contract drafting and review, general corporate law, and bankruptcy law. His credentials include performing outside-counseling services for a Logitech’s subsidiary, ACHEM Industry America, Inc., and the trade union for an AIG Group insurance company. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Hsu worked as a legislative assistant for a former lawmaker Mr. John Wang from Taiwan. This overseas experience served to broaden his international horizon and understandings of international and administrative laws, as well as equipping him with invaluable multi-tasking and problem-solving skills. Later, Mr. Hsu interned with the Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network in Westminster, Colorado, where he became familiar with the complexities of the U.S. immigration law and regularly assisted indigent immigrants in identifying legal rights and ramifications in deportation/removal proceedings.
In 2008, Mr. Hsu enhanced his international profile and served as a foreign attorney at Lin & Chang International Law Offices in Taiwan, where he focused his practice on international commercial disputes & litigation, contract drafting and review, corporate governance, bankruptcy law, and outside-counseling services for corporations. While working in Asia Mr. Hsu joined the Pacific Justice Institute as an affiliate attorney and became a guest lecturer of the American Legal System, Constitution and Government at several universities.
